QuickTECH i-42 / i-60 ROBO 4-Axis Mill/Turn Centers with Integrated 6-Axis Robot & Opt. B-Axis

The QuickTECH i-42 ROBO / i-60 ROBO are compact, high precision, high production CNC mill/turn centers cast from Meehanite iron. Available in both 42mm and 60mm bar capacities, this unique chucker is equipped with an integrated Mitsubishi 6-axis robot for automatic parts loading / unloading. The i-42/i-60 ROBO also provides complex milling functions with a standard C-axis spindle and Y-axis for off-center milling with standard live tools. An optional 360° B-axis is available. The i-42/i-60 ROBO features 4 axes (5 opt.), 1 turning spindle, 1 milling spindle, and a total capacity of 17 tools (23 tools with B-axis). A 3-axis (X,Y,Z) gang-type vertical tool post serves the spindle.

Turning Spindle

The spindle sports a 15 HP high torque spindle motor. The spindle has a 42mm bar capacity (60mm opt.) and features a full continuous C-axis with braking system and is standard with a DIN-173-42B collet chuck (60mm collet or 6” 3-jaw chuck opt.). The spindle is cartridge-type and employs P4 high precision bearings for stability and heavy cutting ability.

Tooling System

A unique 3-axis (4 opt.) gang tooling system is standard. The tool post features 6 O.D. turning tools, 5 I.D. turning tools, 3 radial live tool heads and 3 axial live tool heads. The live heads are powered by a 2 HP spindle motor. Rigid tapping is standard. The tool post has a Y-axis for off-center milling operations. Tool change time is near ZERO. In addition, our standard tooling system is Kennametal KM-25 quick change. KM-25 bases are supplied with the machine for O.D. turning tools.

Robot

Integrated and self-contained within the machine is a Mitsubishi S-series 6-axis high speed robot. The robot can load, unload, or turns parts over automatically. The robot can handle parts up to 13 lbs. The robot is positioned so it will not hinder the machine operator during set-up or operation of the machine.
