The Tongtai TMH Series of high performance horizontal machining centers without pallet changers consists of TMH-400 and TMH 500 machines. The X-Y-Z axis travels of the TMH-400 are 20″ x 20″ x 20″ (500 mm x 500 mm x 500 mm) and are X” x X” x X” (X mm x X mm x X mm) for the TMH-500. Pallet sizes are 16″ x 16″ (400 mm x 400 mm) for the TMH-400 and 20″ x 20″ (500 mm x 500 mm) for the TMH-500. The compact #40- or #50-taper machines are engineered for use in production lines or stand-alone situations. The machines feature rigid cast iron frames for maximum rigidity and stability. The TMH-400 has a 15hp, 10,000 rpm spindle, while the TMH-500 spindle produces 20hp.
Tongtai TMH Series machines are of X-Z traveling-table type design, where the headstock moves in Y. Standard 1˚ index tables are 16″ (400 mm) or 20″ (500 mm). An optional full-contouring B-axis indexes the pallet every 0.001˚ and a hydraulic clamping system provides excellent repeatability. Linear ways facilitate feed rates of 1,417 ipm on the TMH-400 and 1,890 ipm on the TMH-500.
Standard equipment on both machines includes 1,000 psi through-spindle coolant and a 24-tool automatic changer, with 30 tools optional.
